The formation of body odor

Body odor is the product of the combination of sweat gland secretions and bacteria . As long as the sweat glands are active, body odor may occur.

Where are the sweat glands? Human sweat glands are divided into apocrine glands and eccrine glands . Apocrine glands, also known as apocrine glands, are mainly distributed in the ears, underarms, and underarms. Eccrine glands are distributed throughout the body.

The large and small sweat glands have different functions. The eccrine glands are responsible for the discharge of sweat , while the apocrine glands secrete fatty acids . If the secretion is excessive, the excessive fatty acids will be decomposed by the epidermal bacteria, which will produce an unpleasant pungent odor . In addition, strong hormone secretion from adolescence will encourage the apocrine glands to secrete fatty acids, so body odor often occurs during adolescence, and it may continue after adolescence.
